I have not seen the dreaded "waiting for room" since 3 days now! Maybe this is special for my router, maybe not. When the rescan finishes, open your DLNA controller and check that the files are visible. If you are using the Lumin app as your controller, you can also initiate the rescan by clicking on the gear icon, then under Music Library tap Options then MinimServer Rescan. Since that has been done, my Ipad-Kazoo immediately finds the Jplaystreamer, whatever I do. Then select Rescan from the MinimWatch menu. MinimServer seems to working well, the catalogue is available at all dlna devices and one can play the music.
#MINIMSERVER RESCAN UPGRADE#
After the upgrade I installed the MinimServer 0.8.4. as it was said to be incompatible (I used the special App to check). Browsing through the webpages of my router (Ambit EVW320B) I found under advanced settings the page "Static Lease" where I could define a special IP-address-range that allowed me to create an IP-address reservation coupled to the MAC address of the controlPC's NIC. Prior to the upgrade, I removed MinimSever 0.8.4. My controlPC does have a static IP-address, but I discovered that that is apparently not enough in my network.
#MINIMSERVER RESCAN INSTALL#
To avoid this, download & install the MinimWatch program. "Waiting for room" especially when I switched to another library in Kazoo, it would loose the connection to Jplaystreamer and I had to restart the service on my controlPC in order to see Jplaystreamer again in my Ipad-Kazoo. Whenever the Pi starts up, MinimServer will do a new but faster rescan of your music collection.
#MINIMSERVER RESCAN MANUAL#
MinimServer needs a manual rescan done each time you add content, though.Using Kazoo on my Ipad, I still had from to time difficulties with the network contact between Kazoo and Jplaystreamer on my controlPC. To get around this I also run MinimServer on my Synology which handles metadata correctly for streaming to my devices which do not support ALAC. It transcodes to WAV effectively, but messes with the metadata which is transmitted to the player so that song titles appear as "song name.wav" which I personally don't like. When the CD arrives a couple of days later and I delete the MP3's they are not erased from the server's database, so to clean things up a reindex is necessary at that time.
#MINIMSERVER RESCAN PLUS#
On the plus side it means that you don't have to reindex every time you add an album, on the minus side, I use Amazon to buy a lot of CD's and if they have an autorip copy that gets loaded into iTunes right away - so I can get instant gratification.
#MINIMSERVER RESCAN SERIES#
One nice thing about it is that it has a series of recently added lists which allows quick access to new content it also automagically indexes content as you add it, this has it's pluses and minuses.

However that date and time of the last rescan does not update. After I click Refresh it reports Started. When I click Rescan on the config page, it reports Restarting. I just used the canned "advanced" style as it suits my needs. Uninstalled MinimServer and then reinstalled it. It allows a lot of flexibility in how you configure it for sorting stuff. The Synology DLNA server is decent for music. These are the best prices I have found and still maybe too much money for what i really need. To access the status page from a web browser, enter n.n.n. From this status page, you can check whether MinimServer is running, set an initial content directory, and initiate a rescan of your library. You guys are almost convincing me to buy a 2 bay drive lol In that case, the only option is the Synology DS214se because is cheaper than the others 2 drive bay models from Synology and the Qnap doesn't apply because of the size. While MinimServer is running, you can access a web browser status page hosted by MinimServer. That's why i'm towards to one of these last 2.

I know it's different, but the first one that i've seen was the WD My Cloud (which has more features) and i could buy the 2TB version for only 106€/$134.97 (the best prices i found was exactly on the Western Digital's official store(!) -132.91€/$169.23- and it can be cheaper (the 106€ is because they have discounts for students and my girlfriend's still in college) but from what I read, they are very limited compared to Synology and Qnap.

Thank you very much, i really appreciate your help, but, please don't get me wrong because i'm not judging your suggestion, i'm decided to buy a NAS not only because of the backup's, but also because of the features.
